DC Chairs Meeting to Fix Flour Prices in Nawabshah

HYDERABAD, Jul 14 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired an important meeting at Durbar Hall to determine flour prices across the district. The meeting reviewed the availability of wheat and flour, prevailing market situation, ongoing action against hoarding, and measures to ensure the supply of flour to the public at reasonable prices. Participants presented data regarding flour production costs, available wheat stocks, and market demand and supply. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that, in accordance with the directives of the Government of Sindh, providing relief to the public remains the top priority. He emphasized that all concerned departments should adopt a coordinated strategy to keep flour prices at reasonable levels. The meeting fixed the ex-mill price of regular flour at Rs.117 per kilogram and the retail price at Rs.120 per kilogram. Similarly, the ex-mill price of packed chakki flour was fixed at Rs.127 per kilogram, while the retail price was set at Rs.130 per kilogram. Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to continue indiscriminate action against hoarding, profiteering, and violations of officially notified prices. The meeting was attended by District Food Controller Shaheed Benazirabad Dilshad Soomro, Assistant Director, Bureau of Supply and Prices Mazhar Shar, Inspector Rao Shakeel Ahmed, trader leader Zia-ur-Rehman, as well as representatives of the Wheat and Flour Dealers Association, flour mill owners, and chakki flour mill owners.
