Commissioner Sukkur praises world class standards at Gambat Liver Transplant Center

SUKKUR, Jun 11 (APP): Commissioner Sukkur, Abid Saleem Qureshi on Thursday visited the Gambat Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery Department at PAQSJIMS Gambat, where he expressed strong appreciation for the center’s infrastructure, cleanliness, and patient care standards.
The Commissioner was accompanied by PAQSJIMS Director Dr. Capt (Retired) Raheem Bux Bhatti and Program Director of Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery, Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Dogar, during a detailed tour of the facility.
Commissioner Qureshi inspected the Liver ICU, Operation Theatres, and dedicated donor and recipient areas. He commended the department for its well-structured organization, strict infection control and excellent patient management protocols.
“Gambat’s Liver Transplant Program is maintaining outstanding standards that match international benchmarks,” Commissioner Qureshi stated. He praised the dedication of Dr. Bhatti, Prof. Dogar and the entire transplant team for providing complex, life-saving procedures completely free of cost to patients from across Pakistan.
PAQSJIMS Gambat houses Pakistan’s largest Liver Transplant Centre and performs all transplants free of charge under the Sindh Government’s public health initiative. The program has become a national model for accessible tertiary care in rural areas.
Director Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti reiterated the institute’s commitment: “Our mission is to ensure a patient from rural Sindh gets the same standard of care as in London or New York, without any financial burden.”
