CM Murad, Lanjar pay tribute to Sindh police martyrs
KARACHI, Aug 05 (APP):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Sindh Police at a ceremony held to mark Youm-e-Shuhada Sindh Police, describing their sacrifices as the foundation of peace, security and the rule of law in the province.
Addressing the ceremony organised by Sindh Police at the Bahria Auditorium, the Chief Minister said the sacrifices of police martyrs were not merely memories but a continuing source of inspiration, responsibility and resolve for the entire nation.
He said officers and personnel of Sindh Police had laid down their lives to safeguard the lives and property of citizens and maintain peace and law and order.
The ceremony was attended by Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho, Additional IG Karachi Javed Akbar Riaz (Azad Khan), senior serving and retired police officers, and families of martyrs.
The event commenced with a guard of honour, wreath-laying ceremony, recitation from the Holy Quran and the national anthem. A documentary highlighting the sacrifices of police martyrs, a tribute song and a presentation on the Sindh Police Welfare Package were also presented. Later, the Chief Minister and the Home Minister distributed shields and souvenirs among participants.
Paying homage to the fallen heroes, they said the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the security of the country and protection of citizens would forever remain alive in the hearts of the people.
They described their sacrifices as a shining chapter in the nation’s history and acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by their families.
