HYDERABAD, Aug 12 (APP):A ceremony was held in Sindh Museum Hyderabad in connection with National Minority Day 2026, in which the promotion of tolerance, religious harmony, equality and peaceful coexistence was emphasized.
A large number of government officials, representatives of minority communities, civil society, religious leaders, youth and people related to various fields participated in the ceremony.
Addressing the event, Commissioner of Hyderabad Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi said that for the establishment of a strong and peaceful society, tolerance, respect for each other’s religion and beliefs and peaceful coexistence are very important.
He said that every citizen of the country, belonging to any religion or community, is entitled to equal rights, honor, respect and equal opportunities for development.
He said that joint efforts are necessary to promote inter-faith harmony and create such a comprehensive social environment, where every citizen can play his role in the development of the country and society.
During the event, a special presentation was made on Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s message about minorities, while various programs were also presented by children and youth.
Cultural performances, cake cutting ceremony, national songs and banjo performances were also presented on this occasion.
A presentation was also given by the Sion Police Youth Group about the Sion Police recommendations.
DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razzaq Dharijo, Senator Krishna Kumari, Advocate Ramis Gupta, DSP Pars Bakrani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahwesh, Ghafrana Araeen, Pushpa Kumari, CSSP Chief Executive Officer Noor Mohammad Bajir, Abdul Wahad Sangri, Javed Emmanuel including representatives of minority communities, members of civil society, religious leaders, youth and other dignitaries participated in the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, sheldons were distributed among the personalities who rendered outstanding services, while after the thanksgiving, a group photo of the participants was also taken.
On this occasion, the participants reiterated their determination to protect the rights of minorities, respect religious and cultural diversity, promote equality, peace and social harmony.
