Candlelight ceremony held in Shikarpur to honour Martyrs on Defence Day
SUKKUR, Sep 07 (APP):A solemn candlelight ceremony was held at Lakhi Dar in Shikarpur to mark Defence Day and pay tribute to the brave martyrs and national heroes who sacrificed their lives defending the motherland.
Assistant Commissioner Shikarpur and ASP (UT) attended the ceremony along with other participants, said a press release on Monday.
Those present observed a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs and lit candles as a mark of respect and remembrance.
The participants expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs and paid tribute to their invaluable sacrifices for the security, sovereignty and peace of Pakistan.
The Assistant Commissioner Shikarpur highlighted the courage, patriotism and unwavering commitment to duty demonstrated by the armed forces and the nation’s martyrs. He said that the sacrifices of these great heroes would continue to serve as a guiding light for future generations.
He further stressed that every citizen has a collective responsibility to promote national unity, peace, discipline and the spirit of public service.
