Hassan Askari rejects traditional topics of films

LAHORE, Dec 28 (APP): Senior film director, Hassan Askari on Monday said that stories of films based on particular clan damaged the Pakistan film industry in the past.

Talking to APP, he said that those producers of the past who made films on rogues ‘gundas’ and presented them as heroes of the society had damaged the local film industry.

He said that now the society had changed and films based on stories and local socio-economic culture were liked.

He said the new films which hit the box office, were made on socio-economic stories and our culture, setting aside the traditional topics of the past.
