EMI Pakistan’s tributes to Madam Noor Jehan

KARACHI, Nov 25 (APP): EMI Pakistan held an exclusive premier of
“Gul e Daudi (The Chrysanthemum): In tribute to Noor Jehan “ a short film by acclaimed director Umar Riaz at Cinepax Cinema, here.
A statement on Friday said the 15 minute short film is a fictional story based on the music of Madam Noor Jehan which has been selected from EMI Pakistan’s archives.
In his welcome address, Zeeshan Chaudary, General Manager, EMI Pakistan.
said “We are pleased to be a part of this initiative, the life and art of Madam Noor Jehan is filled with joy, love and splendid music.
This short film is an effort to reminisce the golden era of Pakistan’s
music industry with fresh techniques of audio and visual representation”.
He stated that with this an attempt has been made to give audience a feel of the original music keeping in mind the requirements of state of the art audio and visual appeal for the audience.
This film will take one back to the era of the melodious singer, who not
just conquered the heart of millions but made history in subcontinent with her work.
The event was also attended by Aliya Iqbal Naqvi along with a group
of panelists including Hameed Haroon, Chief Executive, Pakistan Herald Publications (Pvt) Limited , Umar Riaz, Director Gul e Daudi, Arshad Mahmud, Director Programmes and Administration, NAPA and Ms. Tina Sani.
The film screening was followed by a discussion session of the panelists
and Q&A session hosted by the director of the film to discuss the story and efforts made by the team.
