Aziz Mian, Roshan Ara’s death anniversaries on 6th

LAHORE, Dec 4 (APP): Death anniversaries of world-fame Qawwal Aziz Mian and renowed singer Roshan Ara Begum will be observed on December 6.
Accordlng to showbiz sources, Aziz Mian Qawwal born in Lahore on April 17, 1942 and resided in Lahore for 20 years and later moved to Rawalpindi where he stayed till his death.
Pakistan government awarded him Pride of Performance award in 1989 for his services. Iran’s king also bestowed on him a gold medal in recognition of his best performance.
Aziz Mian was highly educated person and secured three Masters degrees in Urdu, Arbic and Persian. He also had in his credit of writing poetry/ Qawwalies, and mainly he recited poetry of Allama Iqbal, Poet of the East.
Showbiz sources added that 34th death anniversary of Roshan Ara Begum would also be held on Dec 6. Born in Calcutta in 1917, she had for a long time been singing at All India Radio. After Indo-Pak Partition, she migrated from India to Lala Musa, Gujrat (Pakistan). She sang hundreds of ghazals and songs at Radio Pakistan.
