ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (APP): Senate Standing Committee on Interior has condemned the anti Pakistan speech of Altaf Hussain and demanded strict action against him.
The members of the committee in the meeting held here at Parliament House on Tuesday said that Pakistan is dearest to all of us and nothing can be tolerated against it.
They also condemned the attack on media houses and said that everyone has freedom of expression and no one can imposed ban on it.
Chairman Committee Senator Rehman Malik expressed his concerns over insecure cyber boundaries of Pakistan and asked to make strict laws to make it secure so that no foreigner can tape phone calls of any Pakistani.
Senator Javed Abbassi said that Altaf Hussain is part of conspiracies being hatched by enemy of the country and demanded strict action taken against those involved in attack on media persons and media outlets.
The committee decided to consider the Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Bill 2016 in next sitting while it took up the issue of investigation into murder case of Professor Dr. Shahid Nawaz, Cardiologist of PIMS.
The committee expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of investigation and directed to set up an IT committee as the deceased Cardiologist informed his daughter about life threats to him.
The committee directed SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani to ensure the arrest of perpetrators of this heinous crime at earliest.
The meeting discussed the issue of construction of Grand Hyat Hotel, its worth and size of plot while details of sale/purchase, mode of payment and the exact amount received by CDA in this respect was also discussed.
The Chairman Committee directed to provide details about the violations of bye laws committed during the construction of various buildings in Islamabad.
The meeting considered the detail of market value and official value of the allocated land of Grand Hyat Hotel and detail of audit made by Auditor General of Pakistan.
The meeting was attended among others by Senators Shahi Syed, Shibli Faraz, Mukhtiar Ahmed Dhamrah Aajiz, Abdul Qayum, Secretary Interior, Additional Secretary CADD, Vice Chancellor Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University.
