Raza Rabbani postpones official visit to Cuba, summons Senate session for Nov 4

ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP): Raza Rabbani, Chairman Senate on Saturday postponed official visit to Havana, Cuba and summoned Senate session on November 4.
Chairman Senate was to proceed to Havana, Cuba on the invitation of Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the National Assembly of People’s Power, Cuba, accompanied by a delegation of Senators Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Mrs. Nasreen Jalil, Nisar Muhammad Khan, Shahi Syed, Gian Chand and Amjed Pervez, Secretary Senate.
A requisition under Article 54(3), Constitution, was received in the late evening on Friday, in the Senate Secretariat signed by Senator Taj Haider and 27 other Senators.
In view of the same the Chairman Senate, postponed his official visit in order to perform his constitutional duties and functions.
The Chairman Senate has examined the requisition and found 26 signatures to be in order, thus meeting the requirements of Clause (3) of Article 54, Constitution, 1973, read with Rules of Procedure and Conduct of the Business in the Senate, 2012.
Therefore, in exercise of his powers under Clause (3) of Article 54, Constitution, 1973, the Chairman, Senate of Pakistan has summoned a Session of Senate on Friday the 4th November at 3:30 pm in Parliament House.
