ISLAMABAD, July 25 (APP): Chairman Board of Investment Miftah Ismail Monday said extension in Rangers powers in Sindh is need of the hour to maintain law and order in the province.

All political parties acknowledge that law and order has improved as a result of Rangers operation, he said while talking to PTV.

He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had taken the decision to launch Rangers operation in Karachi in consultation with all stakeholders.

The law and order situation in the province had been miserable before the operation as target killing and other crime incidents were on peak, he said.

Miftah said all political parties should appreciate the role
of Rangers in Sindh to maintain peace rather to make their stay controversial.

He said the federal government has the authority to issue
notification of extension of the Rangers but the Center wanted to resolve the matter with consensus of Sindh government.

Commenting on expected changes in Sindh cabinet, he lauded political role of CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and his services for the party.

He also expressed hope that new leadership in Sindh cabinet would bring improvements in governance of the province.
