UNITED NATIONS, Sept 24 (APP):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Monday stressed the need for boosting Dutch economic and trade ties with Pakistan as well as investment in the country when he met his counterpart from the Netherlands, Stef Blok, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The Netherlands is the fifth largest trading partner of Pakistan in the European Union.
An official statement said the two sides expressed satisfaction at the current level of bilateral ties.
Foreign Minister Qureshi commended the timely efforts of the two countries which helped in preventing the blasphemous competition that Dutch anti-Islam politician Greet Wilders was planning to organize.
On regional issues, Qureshi drew Blok’s attention to the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and discussed the recent developments in Afghanistan, the statement added.
