Zahid Bakhtawari pays tribute to Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed at Mausoleum

RAWALPINDI, Sep 06 (APP):Vice President Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Zahid Bakhtawari visited the mausoleum of Nishan-e-Haider recipient Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed in his native village, Pind Malikan (Mahfuzabad), Rawalpindi, on Defence Day to pay tribute to the martyrs of September 6.
Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed’s nephew, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Naukhez Mahfooz, welcomed Zahid Bakhtawari and other guests. Also present were Uzair Zahid Bakhtawari Additional Chief Warden Rawalpindi, Chief Warden Civil Defence Islamabad Mehr Shahid Iqbal, Civil Defence Officer Rawalpindi Chaudhry Ghulam Mustafa, Divisional Chief Warden Rehan-ul-Haq, and other dignitaries.
Zahid Bakhtawari laid a floral wreath at the martyr’s mausoleum and offered Fateha.
Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Bakhtawari said that September 6 is an unforgettable day in country’s history, when the brave soldiers of the Pak Armed Forces demonstrated exceptional courage and made supreme sacrifices for the defence of the motherland.
He said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and veterans are a lasting source of inspiration, adding that the nation would always remember its brave sons with honour and respect.
He paid special tribute to Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz Shaheed, saying that heroes like him are the pride of Pakistan and that his courage and sacrifice will continue to inspire future generations.
Zahid Bakhtawari reaffirmed that the entire nation stands united with Pak Armed Forces for the security, sovereignty and stability of the country.
Earlier, Zahid Bakhtawari presented honorary shields to Civil Defence staff in recognition of their services.
