Youth drowns in canal

SIALKOT, May 14 (APP): A 17-year-old youth drowned in a canal near Khambaranwala-Kalowal Road in Tehsil Sambrial while bathing buffaloes, according to Rescue 1122.

Officials said the youth slipped into the canal while trying to retrieve his shoe that had fallen into the water. Rescue teams launched a search operation. The victim was identified as Shan  of Bahawalpur.
