Dera Ismail Khan , Aug 08 (APP):A progress review meeting of the Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Dera Ismail Khan was held at its head office to assess the performance of various operational and administrative departments and to review ongoing sanitation and drainage activities across the city.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman Board of Directors/Chief Executive Officer WSSC Dera Ismail Khan, Naimat Ullah Khan.
During the session, a comprehensive review was conducted of the company’s performance in sanitation, solid waste management, drainage, field operations, and other service delivery areas. Progress on ongoing initiatives, the handling of public complaints, and measures for further improvement in municipal services were also discussed in detail.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Naimat Ullah Khan appreciated the performance and dedication of WSSC field and sanitation staff, particularly their services during Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, Muharram, and Chehlum, when operational demands significantly increased.
He noted that sanitation teams carried out their duties with commitment during religious occasions, ensuring cleanliness and timely waste removal from key locations, roads, markets, and other public spaces despite heightened operational challenges.
The CEO also commended the staff for their continued efforts during the monsoon season, stating that WSSC teams remained on high alert and worked in day and night shifts to ensure effective drainage, removal of rainwater accumulation, and clearance of drains and roads.
Naimat Ullah Khan directed all concerned officers and field teams to maintain a proactive approach during the monsoon season and ensure swift response to drainage and sanitation-related complaints to minimize public inconvenience.
He emphasized the need for further improvement in overall performance, strengthened monitoring of field operations, and prompt resolution of public complaints. He also instructed officers to enhance inter-departmental coordination and ensure efficient utilization of available resources for improved service delivery.
The CEO stated that WSSC Dera Ismail Khan has expanded its sanitation operations to 13 union councils, aiming to extend improved sanitation and waste management services to a larger population. He added that this expansion, along with the availability of modern machinery and equipment, would further strengthen field operations, improve waste collection and transportation, and enhance service delivery in newly included areas.
He further directed relevant officials to ensure the effective utilization and proper maintenance of newly acquired machinery and equipment, along with close monitoring of field activities.
The meeting also reviewed departmental targets and progress, issuing necessary instructions to concerned officers for timely completion of assigned tasks and continued improvement in service delivery.
Naimat Ullah Khan reiterated that WSSC would continue to work with dedication and professional commitment to provide clean, healthy, and improved living conditions to the residents of Dera Ismail Khan.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening sanitation, drainage, and waste management services and ensuring a cleaner and healthier Dera Ismail Khan.
