A woman and a minor girl lost their lives after a car plunged into the Pakpattan Link Canal following a collision with a motorcycle near village 407/EB on the outskirts of Burewala, rescue officials said.

BUREWALA, Apr 20 (APP): A woman and a minor girl lost their lives after a car plunged into the Pakpattan Link Canal following a collision with a motorcycle near village 407/EB on the outskirts of Burewala, rescue officials said.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, the car went out of control after the collision with a motorcycle and fell into the canal. The driver, 55-year-old Farah Begum, a resident of Adda Kameer, and four-year-old Marha Fatima drowned and died in the accident.
Rescue teams retrieved both bodies from the canal and shifted them to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
Amina Bibi was rescued from the canal in an injured condition and provided medical treatment.
Rescue officials are continuing a search operation to locate one-year-old Hoorain Fatima, who was also travelling in the vehicle and remains missing.
DSP Imran Tipu reached the spot soon after receiving information and supervised the rescue operation, while authorities have started further investigation into the incident.
