LAHORE, Jun 08 (APP): Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore has intensified efforts to further enhance its operational performance and service delivery standards.
An important review meeting was held under the chairmanship of WASA Managing Director Ghaffran Ahmed, to assess the ongoing operational activities and public service initiatives. All Town Directors attended the meeting in person, while Executive Engineers (XENs) participated via webinar.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the progress made in desilting operations and the Complaint Management System.
The Managing Director directed all officers concerned to ensure timely desilting of drains and sewerage lines to improve drainage infrastructure ahead of monsoon season.
Emphasizing citizen facilitation, Ghaffran Ahmed stressed the importance of resolving public complaints promptly and within the prescribed timelines.
He also instructed officials to continuously monitor the Complaint Management System and take necessary measures to further improve its effectiveness and performance.
The WASA MD directed field officers to ensure daily reporting of operational activities and instructed all operational teams to remain on high alert in view of the upcoming monsoon season.
Special instructions were also issued to conduct a comprehensive survey of manhole covers across all neighborhoods and streets of the city. Taking a strong stance against theft of manhole covers, the MD directed officials to register attempted murder cases against those involved in such criminal activities, considering the serious risks posed to public safety.
He urged the citizens to remain vigilant regarding manhole cover theft and to report immediately any such incidents by calling 15. Residents were also requested to report damaged or missing manhole covers through the WASA helpline 1334.
The Managing Director reaffirmed that providing the public with the best possible drainage and sanitation services remains WASA’s top priority. He stated that any negligence in delivering relief and services to citizens would not be tolerated.
