WASA holds Kashmir solidarity rally
FAISALABAD, Aug 05 (APP): Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) on Wednesday organized a special solidarity rally to mark Exploitation Day of Kashmir in addition to reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza led the rally while Deputy Managing Director (Administration) Shoaib Rashid, Deputy Managing Director (Operations) Farhan Akram, Deputy Managing Director (Engineering) Shoaib Zia, Director Administration Arif Siryani, Director Finance Javed Ghani along with a large number of officers and staff members were also present.
The participants carrying Pakistani and Kashmiri flags marched in solidarity with Kashmiri people and raised spirited slogans in support of Pakistan and the freedom of Kashmir. They reiterated their commitment to stand with the people of Kashmir and called for the protection of their internationally recognized rights.
Addressing the gathering, Managing Director WASA Engineer Saqib Raza said that Exploitation Day of Kashmir serves as a reminder of India’s decision on August 05, 2019 to abolish special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and they would continue extending political, social and moral support to their just cause at every available forum.
He said that Indian government’s decision to revoke Articles 370 and 35-A on August 05, 2019 deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their special constitutional status and constituted a serious violation of internationally recognized human rights and fundamental freedoms.
He stressed that people of Pakistan and all national institutions remained united in support of Kashmiri people and paid tribute to their decades-long struggle for the right to self-determination.
The participants reiterated that sacrifices of Kashmiri people would not be forgotten and urged the international community to play a more effective role in ensuring the implementation of United Nations resolutions on Kashmir.
Later, special prayers were offered for peace, justice and realization of the legitimate aspirations of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
