WASA disconnects water connections of defaulters in Satellite Town area

RAWALPINDI, Oct 12 (APP): The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi on Monday disconnected water connections of domestic and commercial consumers who had failed to pay their dues for an extended period in D-Block Satellite Town and Sixth Road as part of its ongoing revenue recovery campaign.
On the directions of Managing Director WASA Azizullah Khan, teams led by Senior Special Magistrate Aamir Ashfaq Qureshi, Director Finance and Revenue Tahir Bashir Mirza, and Deputy Director Rana Shams-ur-Rehman conducted operations in the two areas and took action against persistent defaulters.
Senior Special Magistrate Aamir Qureshi said no leniency would be shown in revenue recovery and that operations would continue until outstanding dues were recovered. He directed defaulters to clear their arrears immediately, warning that failure to do so would invite strict legal action.
WASA officials said the campaign would continue to ensure the agency’s financial sustainability and enable it to provide better services to citizens.
