RAWALPINDI, Sep 28 (APP): Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi Aziz Ullah Khan has directed the revenue recovery staff to intensify action against defaulters and illegal water and sewerage connections, with 69 water connections already disconnected over non-payment of dues and 27 water motors removed.
Chairing a meeting to review the revenue recovery targets, outstanding dues and the overall financial position of the agency, he also cancelled the Sunday holiday of revenue recovery personnel and directed them to remain on duty and participate in the recovery operation.
Aziz Ullah directed the officials to intensify efforts to achieve the set recovery targets and ordered immediate disconnection of illegal water and sewerage connections, besides strict action against those involved.
The MD said WASA was a self-financed organisation and revenue recovery was essential to meet its financial requirements.
He directed the officials to perform their duties with diligence and responsibility, stressing that negligence in recovery matters would not be tolerated.
Director Finance and Revenue Tahir Bashir Mirza, Deputy Directors Shams-ur-Rehman and Akmal Yasin, Manager MIS Ali Abbas Gondal and Assistant Directors attended the meeting.
