SARGODHA, Jul 13 (APP): The Career Development Center (CDC) at the University of Sargodha organized an interactive training session titled “Roadmap to Photography” under its Skill Development Program (SDP), equipping students with both creative and technical knowledge of photography.
The session featured two expert-led segments focusing on the artistic and practical dimensions
of photography.
In the first session, Muhammad Usman, Incharge Public Relations and Publications, introduced participants to the evolution of photography and its growing significance as a medium of visual communication. He highlighted photography’s role in storytelling, documenting history, preserving memories, and expressing emotions through creative vision.
He also discussed key principles of photography, including composition, framing, lighting, perspective, and the ethical responsibilities of photographers in the digital age. Encouraging students to develop a thoughtful visual approach, he emphasized that impactful photography goes beyond capturing images and communicates meaningful narratives.
The technical session was conducted by Tayyab Ur Rehman, who provided hands-on insights into modern camera systems and photography equipment. He explained various camera types, lenses, exposure settings, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, focusing techniques, and the effective use of natural and artificial lighting.
Through practical demonstrations, he illustrated how different camera settings affect image quality and shared techniques for capturing professional-quality photographs under varying conditions.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing students to engage with the speakers and seek practical guidance on photography.
Participants appreciated the opportunity to gain industry-relevant knowledge and expressed enthusiasm for applying the skills in academic projects, media production, entrepreneurial ventures, and personal creative work.
