Unwholesome meat seized

MUZAFFARGARH, Jul 20 (APP): Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized 500 kilograms of substandard, unhygienic meat from an illegal slaughterhouse at Chak 139 and destroyed it on the spot.
The meat, found stored in a highly foul and untraceable condition, was being supplied for sale before the raid foiled the attempt, a spokesperson for the department said.
A case was registered against the slaughterhouse owner for operating an unlicensed facility and dealing in unhygienic meat.
The action was carried out jointly by the PFA, police and the Livestock Department.
