UET celebrates Teachers’ Day, announces selection boards for associate professor and professor cadres

A special ceremony was organized by the Teaching Staff Association of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, to mark World Teachers’ Day at the Chemical Seminar Hall.

LAHORE, Oct 05 (APP): A special ceremony was organized by the Teaching Staff Association of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, to mark World Teachers’ Day at the Chemical Seminar Hall.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The event paid tribute to the services and contributions of teachers, while the Vice Chancellor presented Best Teacher Awards to faculty members in recognition of their outstanding teaching performance.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir congratulated the teachers on World Teachers’ Day and said that the real strength of any university lies in its teachers. A teacher is not merely responsible for completing the curriculum but plays a fundamental role in the intellectual, academic, moral and professional development of students. He said that quality teaching, research and continuous professional development are essential for universities to progress and compete at the national and international levels.
On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor announced that selection boards for the Associate Professor and Professor cadres would be held soon. He said that the first phase of the promotion process, covering promotions from Lecturer to Assistant Professor and from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor, had already been completed. In the second phase, selection boards for the posts of Associate Professor and Professor would be conducted shortly.
He said that transparent and merit based opportunities for career advancement not only encourage faculty members but also contribute significantly to improving the quality of teaching and research at the university. He expressed the hope that faculty members would further expand their academic and research activities and continue contributing to the university’s national and international standing and academic reputation.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor distributed Best Teacher Awards among faculty members in recognition of their outstanding teaching performance. A luncheon was also hosted for the participants after the ceremony.
