MUZAFFARGARH, Jun 15 (APP): Joint teams of the Wildlife department from Layyah and Bhakkar raided and arrested two poachers involved in the illegal trade of black and grey partridges.
According to official sources, the arrests were made during a coordinated search operation conducted in the area. Several protected birds were recovered from the possession of the suspects, who were reportedly engaged in unlawful trading activities.
Wildlife authorities said legal proceedings were initiated against the accused under relevant wildlife protection laws. The department imposed a cumulative fine of Rs350,000 on the offenders as part of the action taken against them.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to preserving wildlife, stressing that indiscriminate action against illegal hunters, poachers, and wildlife traders would continue across the region.
Violations of conservation laws would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
