LAHORE, Jul 20 (APP): Two labourers were killed while two others sustained injuries after a mini truck loaded with iron sheets struck a divider and overturned near Abdullah Gul Interchange on Lahore Ring Road on Monday.
According to Rescue 1122, the accident occurred while the vehicle was travelling from Harbanspura towards Abdullah Gul Interchange. The impact caused two labourers sitting at the rear of the truck to fall onto the road.
Rescue teams reached the spot soon after receiving the emergency call and provided first aid to the injured before shifting them for further medical treatment.
The injured were identified as 18-year-old Waseem and 18-year-old Hamza, while the deceased were identified as Rafiq, 40, and Ejaz, 30.
Ring Road Police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
Police said the mini truck bearing registration number CBA-7684 was carrying iron sheets when it met with the accident. The driver, identified as Hamza, was taken into police custody for investigation.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to police after completion of rescue operations and legal formalities.
