LAHORE, Jul 02 (APP): Two people were killed and nine others sustained injuries in various rain and wind related incidents across the Punjab province during the last 24 hours.
According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, the fatalities occurred near Naya Pump in Attock, where a wall collapsed due to strong winds and heavy downpour, leaving two people dead and three others injured.
In a separate incident in the Para Shaheen Bagh area of Attock, three more individuals were injured when the roof of a house caved in due to the severe weather conditions.
Meanwhile, weather-related mishaps were also reported in other parts of the province.
In Khushab’s Quaidabad area, one person was injured after being struck by lightning.
Another individual sustained injuries in Sargodha when a commercial signboard collapsed due to fierce windstorms.
Similarly, on Chak Risala Road in Sheikhupura, a citizen was injured following the collapse of a wooden roof.
The spokesperson added that all critically injured victims were provided immediate medical assistance by emergency responders before being shifted to nearby healthcare facilities for advanced treatment.
Citizens have been strongly urged to remain cautious during severe weather and immediately dial the Rescue 1122 helpline in case of any emergency.
