Two killed, four injured in truck-oil tanker collision

Two people were killed and four others injured after a cattle-laden truck crashed into an oil tanker on the Muzaffargarh-Dera Ghazi Khan Road near Ganjera School, Rescue 1122 officials said on Saturday.

MUZAFFARGARH, Jul 11 (APP): Two people were killed and four others injured after a cattle-laden truck crashed into an oil tanker on the Muzaffargarh-Dera Ghazi Khan Road near Ganjera School, Rescue 1122 officials said on Saturday.
According to rescue officials, the truck, carrying six animals, rammed into the rear of the tanker, leaving two occupants dead at the scene and four others injured.
Eyewitnesses claimed the truck driver was using a mobile phone when the accident occurred.
They said the oil tanker rolled backwards on a slope before colliding with the truck, which was enroute to the Multan cattle market. One animal was killed and another injured in the collision.
Rescue 1122 dispatched three ambulances, a rescue vehicle and a fire tender to the scene.
The injured were administered first aid before being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Muzaffargarh.
Police cordoned off the area and traffic was restored after rescue teams confirmed there was no oil leakage from the tanker.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Ramzan (27) and Muhammad Amir (27).
The injured were identified as Jaffar Hussain (40), Fayyaz (42), Ishaq (45), r/o Shah Jamal and an unidentified man.
All were shifted to the DHQ Hospital for treatment.
