Lahore Police have taken two persons, including the owner of the building, into custody following the tragic collapse of a tuition centre building in Kahna, while injured children were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kahna for immediate medical treatment.

LAHORE, Jun 30 (APP): Lahore Police have taken two persons, including the owner of the building, into custody following the tragic collapse of a tuition centre building in Kahna, while injured children were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kahna for immediate medical treatment.
According to a police spokesperson, Lahore DIG Operations Faisal Kamran reached the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident and reviewed the ongoing rescue activities.
Police, Rescue 1122 and the district administration jointly launched a rescue operation, while police personnel assisted rescue teams in removing debris and shifting victims to safer locations.
The DIG personally supervised the rescue operation and directed officials to utilise all available resources. Later, he visited Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kahna, inquired after the injured children and met their families, expressing condolences and assuring them of full support.
Faisal Kamran said the police shared the grief of the bereaved families who lost their children in the incident. He said that under the initial legal action, two persons, including the building owner, had been detained, while evidence was being collected to determine the causes of the collapse and fix responsibility.
He said strict action would be taken against those found responsible after completion of legal formalities. Relevant departments were being consulted continuously and every aspect of the incident was being thoroughly investigated.
The DIG added that Lahore Police were providing all possible legal, administrative and humanitarian assistance to the affected families, while all available resources were being utilised to protect citizens’ lives and property and deal effectively with the emergency situation.
