Traffic flows smoothly on Rawalpindi roads amid rain; motorists urged to drive cautiously

RAWALPINDI, Apr 07 (APP):Traffic flow on major roads in Rawalpindi remained smooth on Tuesday despite intermittent rainfall as personnel of the City Traffic Police (CTP) stayed deployed across key arteries to ensure uninterrupted movement.
According to a CTP spokesman, wardens continued to regulate traffic in adverse weather conditions, assisting road users and preventing congestion on busy routes.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam urged motorists to exercise caution while driving in the rain, advising them to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and reduce speed to avoid skidding on slippery roads.
He said motorcyclists should use the extreme left lane while drivers must ensure the use of fog lights, indicators and side mirrors, particularly during heavy rainfall.
The CTO further emphasised that motorists should remain patient and considerate, especially towards motorcyclists and pedestrians, to prevent accidents.
Farhan Aslam also directed traffic staff to extend prompt assistance to road users during rain and ensure traffic continued to flow smoothly for the convenience of citizens.
