Three food units fined

Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams inspected 55 food businesses across the district and took action against violators of food safety regulations. 

GUJRAT, Jun 29 (APP): Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams inspected 55 food businesses across the district and took action against violators of food safety regulations.
The action was taken on the directions of Deputy Director PFA Sadia Rafat.
According to official sources, 14 food outlets were issued improvement notices for various violations, while three food units were fined a total of Rs 53,000.
During the inspection campaign, officials confiscated and destroyed 90 kilograms of unhygienic chicken and six kilograms of prohibited food items to prevent their sale and consumption.
A case was also registered against a food business over a serious violation of food safety laws.
Punjab Food Authority officials said the inspection drive would continue to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public. They urged food business operators to comply with hygiene standards and food safety regulations to avoid legal action.
