Police have arrested three men accused of illegally extracting gold from the Indus River in Attock and seized machinery used in the operation, officials said on Wednesday.

ATTOCK, Jul 9 (APP): Police have arrested three men accused of illegally extracting gold from the Indus River in Attock and seized machinery used in the operation, officials said on Wednesday.
The arrests were made during a crackdown by Rango police led by Station House Officer (SHO) Sub-Inspector Ali Zeb Khan against illegal gold mining activities.
The suspects were identified as Muhammad Safdar, son of Muhammad Iqbal, and Muhammad Arsalan, son of Gul Jahan, both residents of Khushab district, along with Matiullah, son of Qabil Khan, a resident of Mianwali district.
Police confiscated mining machinery and other equipment allegedly used in the illegal operation. A criminal case has been registered against the suspects, and further investigation is underway, according to police.
