BUREWALA , Jul 21 (APP):A thief allegedly entered a supermarket through an exhaust fan opening and stole about Rs1.6 million during a late-night burglary , the police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Al Habib Super Store on College Road after the premises had closed for the night, according to police.
The police said the suspect gained access by squeezing through an exhaust vent, entered the store’s office, opened a locker and escaped with the cash.
The surveillance footage captured an unusual moment in which the suspect appeared to stand in front of one of the store’s CCTV cameras and gesture an apology before leaving the premises.
The police said the entire burglary was recorded by the store’s security cameras.
The police registered a case and launched investigation.
