Tank-Adda flyover to ease traffic issues in DI Khan
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Aug 10 (APP):Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said the Tank-Adda flyover would be completed within a month and it would help easing traffic congestion on Circular Road.
Speaking to a delegation of the Central Traders Association led by its President Sohail Ahmed Azmi, Gandapur said the Faqirni Gate flyover project would take a few more months to complete.
He said that the work on the Sports Complex was progressing rapidly and facilities including floodlights and an artificial hockey turf were being developed. The ground of Government High School No. 4 and several parks had also been upgraded, he added.
On the temporary closure of roads leading to the Mahmood Eye Hospital and the Meteorological Department, the former chief minister said the roads had been closed due to security concerns and would be reopened once the security situation improved.
He said several water supply and drainage schemes worth hundreds of millions of rupees had been completed in the city and its surrounding localities. The road carpeting in the main bazaars would be carried out after completion of drainage projects, he added.
Gandapur said the administration was also working to improve the four major bazaars by introducing uniform signboards, improving drainage and carpeting roads, which would make the commercial areas more accessible and attractive.
He urged upon the traders to cooperate with the authorities by avoiding overcharging, keeping goods within the limits of their shops and refraining from dumping waste into drains.
Responding to concerns about healthcare facilities, he said hospitals faced difficulties when the number of patients exceeded their designed capacity, citing the example of a 200-bed facility receiving around 600 patients.
Gandapur said the law and order situation in DI Khan, like other parts of the country, remained a serious concern.
