Suspect held in minor’s assault case; teams formed to arrest Rawat woman abuse accused

RAWALPINDI, Mar 31 (APP): The Nasirabad Police have apprehended a suspect for assaulting a 15-year-old boy, while special teams have been formed to arrest accused involved in a separate case of abuse of a woman reported in the Rawat area, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Tuesday.

He said the Nasirabad Police acted promptly on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, who alleged that the accused lured his son to his house and assaulted him. The police registered a case and arrested the suspect.

The spokesman added that the victim had undergone a medical examination, while Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said the accused would be challaned in court with solid evidence to ensure he received due punishment.

In a separate incident, the spokesman said a case had been registered at the Rawat Police Station on the complaint of the victim woman’s mother.

He said special teams had been constituted and raids were being conducted to apprehend the suspects, while the victim’s medical examination was under way.

The spokesman said the suspects would be arrested and brought to justice in accordance with the law.
