FAISALABAD, Mar 16 (APP):According to the vision of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, measures have been initiated to make Faisalabad Pakistan’s first “circular economy city”, for which the divisional administration, industry and academia will be partners.
In this regard, a working group has also been formed under the chairmanship of Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar.
It was disclosed in a meeting held in the chair of Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar here on Monday.
The Commissioner said that this initiative will utilize industrial waste. The employment opportunities will also increase with the establishment of new industries.
He said that the creation of a circular economy city will also increase Faisalabad’s exports.
The meeting was informed that an awareness campaign is essential for the establishment of a circular economy city, for which extensive measures will be taken.
The working group will also include the vice-chancellors of all universities, with whom the consultation process will continue.
Vice Chancellor University of Kamalia Prof Dr. Yasir Humayun briefed the meeting. Ahmed Afzal Awan from Sadaqat Corporation, DG FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, Additional Commissioners, CO Waste Management Company Rauf Ahmed, MD Parks and Horticulture Agency, Officers from the Ministry of Industry, Environment, and Labor were also present in the meeting.
