Punjab Agriculture Department has taken several steps for welfare of farmer community of Bahawalpur division including provision of fertilizer at controlled rate.

BAHAWALPUR, Jun 14 (APP): Punjab Agriculture Department has taken several steps for welfare of farmer community of Bahawalpur division including provision of fertilizer at controlled rate.
According to an official press release issued here, Engro Center has been inaugurated in the division in order to address the concerns of cotton and sugarcane growers and provide technical guidance. “The establishment of the Engro Center would ensure the availability of quality fertilizers to farmers at government-approved rates,” it said.
It further said that farmers have been receiving technical guidance on cotton crop management, balanced and appropriate use of fertilizers, and integrated pest management practices, adding that by adopting improved agricultural practices, a production target of at least two bales of cotton per acre could be achieved.
The press further said that efforts would be made to address the shortage of canal water in cotton-growing areas. In addition, awareness was provided regarding the registration process, importance, and benefits of the Kissan Card.
