Special traffic arrangements in place for increased shopping crowds in last 10 days of Ramazan

RAWALPINDI, Mar 13 (APP): The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police have put in place special arrangements to manage increased traffic during the last ten days of the Holy Month of Ramazan, deploying additional personnel on key roads, commercial markets and bazaars across the city.
According to a CTP spokesman on Friday, the measures were implemented on the directions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam. Office staff are also being deployed in shifts on the field until Eid to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide greater convenience to road users.
CTO Farhan Aslam said the last ten days of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak “witness an unusual surge of shoppers in markets. Office staff have been assigned to field duty so that road users, particularly buyers, can move with ease.”
He added that over 800 traffic officers and personnel were on 24-hour duty across Rawalpindi. “Wardens are maintaining traffic on major roads with the cooperation of citizens, while special squads remain active to prevent accidents, one-wheeling and illegal parking.”
He urged citizens to follow traffic rules, cooperate with traffic staff and avoid parking in prohibited areas during shopping to ensure unobstructed movement for all road users.
