Special teams formed to arrest suspects in Defence gang-rape case

LAHORE, Sep 26 (APP): Lahore police have identified the suspects allegedly involved in the gang-rape of a foreign woman in Defence and launched operation to arrest them.

According to a police spokesperson, a case has been registered at Defence C Police Station.

DIG Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza took immediate notice of the incident and constituted special teams under SP Investigation Cantt Asim Iftikhar to arrest the suspects.

The DIG said all possible resources were being utilised to apprehend the accused, adding that investigations were underway from all relevant angles. He said the suspects involved in the serious crime would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law, without discrimination.

DIG Syed Zeeshan Raza said he was personally monitoring the progress of the investigation and directed that all stages of the probe be completed on merit and in accordance with the law. He added that the suspects would be arrested and brought to justice.
