In connection with the World Environment Day which was observed globally on 5th of June, the Radio Pakistan Sargodha FM-101 organized a special edition of its popular program “Shaheen Sargodha” on Saturday, focusing on environmental protection, climate change, and public awareness.

SARGODHA, Jun 06 (APP): In connection with the World Environment Day which was observed globally on 5th of June, the Radio Pakistan Sargodha FM-101 organized a special edition of its popular program “Shaheen Sargodha” on Saturday, focusing on environmental protection, climate change, and public awareness.
The program featured Dr Syed Haroon Ali, Assistant Professor at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Sargodha, as a guest speaker. He is also associated with the Central Research Lab (CRL) as a Machine Expert and the Interdisciplinary Research Center for One Health (IRCOH).
Another distinguished guest was Muhammad Rana, Deputy Director, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Sargodha. He shared insights regarding environmental regulations, pollution control measures, and government initiatives aimed at environmental conservation.
The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including the significance and objectives of World Environment Day, climate change, environmental challenges facing the Sargodha region, groundwater depletion and water resource conservation, the importance of tree plantation, air pollution and its impact on human health, plastic pollution and mitigation strategies, climate change impacts on agricultural regions, biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, and waste management practices.
