On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA), Rawalpindi, has intensified its awareness and warning campaign against littering and waste burning in the city.
SPA intensifies anti-littering campaign in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Sep 30 (APP): On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA), Rawalpindi, has intensified its awareness and warning campaign against littering and waste burning in the city.
The Anti-Littering Squad conducted 300 inspections in Pirwadhai, Sarafa Bazaar, Malpur, Dhok Kashmirian and Sixth Road, while warning notices were issued to 28 people for littering and other violations of cleanliness rules.
The notices warned that fines and other legal action would be taken against those found violating rules regarding littering or burning waste in future.
Meanwhile, the Communication team of SPA continued a special awareness campaign in Tehsil Kahuta.
The teams visited schools, residential areas and markets to sensitise citizens about anti-littering laws, applicable fines and measures to prevent environmental pollution and smog.
The communication team urged citizens to avoid throwing or burning waste on roads, streets and open spaces, dispose of garbage at designated points and cooperate with sanitation staff to keep Rawalpindi clean and help reduce smog and air pollution.
