SPA ends Daewoo Waste Management contract in 21 Tehsils

MUZAFFARGARH, Oct 06 (APP): Suthra Punjab Authority (SPA) has terminated its agreement with Daewoo Waste Management Company in 21 tehsils, including all tehsils of Muzaffargarh district, and handed over sanitation operations to the respective district administrations.
Under the new arrangement, sanitation operations across all tehsils of Muzaffargarh district, as well as other areas of Dera Ghazi Khan Division, would now be supervised and managed by the district administrations.
According to the available information, Daewoo Waste Management Company had also failed to make payments amounting to Rs3 billion to contractors providing sanitation machinery and related services.
The contractors had been directed to remove their sanitation machinery following the termination of the agreement, which marks a major shift in the management of cleanliness operations across the affected tehsils.
The district administrations would now oversee sanitation arrangements and ensure the continuation of cleanliness operations in their respective areas.
