SP Potohar reviews security arrangements for Chehlum Procession
RAWALPINDI, Aug 08 (APP): Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Chaudhry Asar Ali Khan reviewed security arrangements for the Chehlum procession of the martyrs of Karbala at a meeting and also inspected the procession route in the RA Bazaar area.
The meeting was attended by the SDPO Cantt Circle, SHO RA Bazaar, members of the Peace Committee and Traders Association, the caretaker of the Imambargah and the procession organizer.
SP Potohar Chaudhry Asar Ali Khan said all participants entering the procession would be allowed access only after passing through walk-through gates and undergoing complete body searches.
He directed that the procession should commence and conclude at the designated time and follow the prescribed routes in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The SP said strict compliance with the Punjab Home Department’s code of conduct and SOPs would be ensured.
The procession organizers assured the administration of their full cooperation and commitment to complying with all prescribed SOPs.
Chaudhry Asar Ali Khan said all available resources were being utilized to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the procession.
