Singapore Police laud NCCIA for dismantling global cybercrime syndicate

LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP): Singapore Police have commended Pakistan’s National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for dismantling the international ‘Tycoon2FA’ cybercrime syndicate, describing the operation as a major success in the global fight against transnational cybercrime.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi termed the operation a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies, saying it reflected the country’s growing capability to combat sophisticated cyber threats through international cooperation. He congratulated NCCIA Director General Syed Khurram Ali Shah and his team for their professional leadership in successfully tracing and dismantling the global phishing network.

Khurram Ali said the operation, conducted in collaboration with INTERPOL and the Singapore Police, followed an intelligence-led investigation that led to the arrest of key members of the international syndicate in Islamabad. He said the suspects were allegedly operating a phishing-as-a-service network targeting victims in several countries, including Pakistan and Singapore.

Punjab NCCIA Director Muhammad Ali Wasim said the successful operation demonstrated the growing technical expertise of Pakistan’s cybercrime investigators in dismantling organised transnational criminal networks through intelligence-based operations.

Singapore Police formally acknowledged NCCIA’s outstanding cooperation, saying timely intelligence sharing and close operational coordination played a key role in disrupting the criminal infrastructure. It also praised NCCIA in its local media, recognising Pakistan’s increasing contribution to global cybersecurity and international law enforcement efforts.
