Several trapped as mud roof of house collapses
LAHORE, Jul 30 (APP):A rescue operation was underway after the roof of a house collapsed in Bhatta Muhammad Din Colony near Sukh Nehar Stop late Wednesday night, trapping several people under the debris.
According to Rescue 1122, the emergency control room received a call about the incident, following which the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team responded promptly to the scene.
Rescue officials said the house roof was constructed with mud and T-iron girders. Initial reports suggested that eight to ten people were trapped beneath the rubble.
Rescue personnel successfully pulled out four people from under the debris, while efforts continued to rescue the remaining trapped individuals.
A total of 20 rescuers, supported by six emergency vehicles, were taking part in the ongoing rescue operation, Rescue 1122 said.
