The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested seven suspects for allegedly defrauding a citizen of Rs14.4 million on the pretext of arranging a Canadian work permit and visa.

LAHORE, Aug 13 (APP): The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested seven suspects for allegedly defrauding a citizen of Rs14.4 million on the pretext of arranging a Canadian work permit and visa.
According to the NCCIA spokesperson, the suspects were operating a Facebook page titled “Canada Work Permit Visa”, offering work permits and employment opportunities in Canada and providing WhatsApp numbers for prospective applicants.
The spokesperson said Faisalabad resident Muhammad Younis contacted the suspects through the Facebook page after expressing interest in obtaining a Canadian work permit.
The NCCIA said the suspects allegedly used fabricated and misleading information to gain the complainant’s confidence and persuaded him to transfer a total of Rs14.4 million into various bank accounts.
However, the promised work permit and visa were never provided and the money was not returned, prompting the victim to approach the cybercrime authorities.
Following the complaint, the NCCIA Faisalabad launched an investigation and collected evidence regarding the alleged fraud and financial transactions.
Based on the investigation, the agency arrested seven suspects identified as Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Asghar, Muhammad Nauman, Jan Muhammad, Umar Usman, Muhammad Huzaifa and Abdul Rauf.
