RAWALPINDI, May 17 (APP): Police have arrested seven gamblers over cockfighting and recovered stake money Rs. 97,500, six mobile phones and three fighting cocks from their possession during crackdown here Sunday.
According to police spokesperson, Chakri police conducted a raid and held the gamblers. A case has been registered against the arrested individuals and further investigation was in progress.
SP Saddar Anum Sher appreciated performance of police team and emphasized that gambling was the root of many other social evils and that strict action would be continued against such activities.
