Senior Minister pays rich tribute to martyrs, Ghazis on Defence Day

LAHORE, Sep 06 (APP):Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb paid glowing tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis of Pakistan on Defence Day on Sunday, stating that the day serves as an occasion to renew the nation’s resolve to make every sacrifice for the country’s freedom, sovereignty, and security.
In her message on Defence Day, she said September 6 remains an unforgettable day in Pakistan’s history, reflecting the nation’s enduring unity alongside the exemplary courage and valour of its armed forces. She noted that during the 1965 war, the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force demonstrated that the nation fights not merely with the strength of weapons, but with the power of faith.
The senior minister emphasized that the armed forces confronted a much larger enemy on every front, turning the September War into an enduring chapter of bravery and sacrifice. She added that the 1965 war and the recent “Marka-e-Haq” stand as two significant lessons demonstrating the unyielding resolve and resilience of the Pakistani nation and its military.
Marriyum Aurangzeb stressed that the country requires the same spirit of national unity and solidarity today that characterized the 1965 war. She prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and expressed profound gratitude to their families for their supreme sacrifices in service to the motherland.
