Seminar held to mark death anniversary of Allama Iqbal

BAHAWALPUR, Apr 21 (APP):Punjab Council of Arts Bahawalpur on Tuesday organized a seminar to mark the death anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal at Rashidia Auditorium here.
The seminar titled “The Concept of Love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Iqbal’s Thought and Its Individual and Collective Implications” was attended by a large number of intellectuals, Iqbal scholars, teachers, and members of civil society.
Addressing the seminar, Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology Malik Allah Bakhsh Kalyar said that Allama Iqbal, through his poetry, not only promoted deep love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) but also nurtured the intellectual growth of future generations. He emphasized that, according to Iqbal, love, brotherhood, and awakening of the Ummah were the true purposes of life and form the foundation of a strong and dignified nation.
Renowned Iqbal scholar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asghar Sial highlighted that Iqbal’s philosophy awakened enslaved nations by instilling self-confidence, awareness, and a spirit of continuous struggle.
He added that Iqbal’s message remains a guiding light for today’s youth, especially in fostering independent thinking and strengthening the concept of khudi (selfhood).
Prof. Dr. Ramzan Tahir Kashmiri noted that Iqbal’s poetry transcends his era and continues to serve as a source of guidance for future generations. He stated that Iqbal taught the practical implementation of love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in all aspects of life.
Iqbal expert Utban Ullah said that the universality of Iqbal’s poetry was evident in its message of courage, determination, and resilience for oppressed nations.
Prof. Dr. Aoun Muhammad Saeedi remarked that Iqbal’s poetry was deeply infused with love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), making Iqbal’s philosophy and this love inseparable.
Prominent intellectual Hafiz Safwan observed that Iqbal emerged during a difficult period for Muslims of the subcontinent, yet his thought illuminated hope in times of despair.
Director Arts Council and Public Relations Bahawalpur Dr. Nasir Hameed highlighted the significance of Iqbal’s philosophy in both individual and collective life and thanked the distinguished guests and participants.
At the conclusion of the seminar, rich tributes were paid to the intellectual and national contributions of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting Iqbal’s teachings to foster unity, awareness, and the message of love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in society.
