LAHORE, Aug 21 (APP): SP Cantt Atif Ameer, while reviewing the security arrangements at Hazrat Mian Mir shrine, has directed the police personnel to remain alert during duty hours.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Cantt Atif Ameer was present in the field along with the men and reviewed the security arrangements. He also gave a briefing to the officers and personnel regarding making the security more effective.
SP Cant directed that the participants coming to the Darbar should be allowed to enter after full checking and all the security personnel should be on high alert and perform their duties.
According to the police, the participants are being checked in a three-level security fence, while a thorough search of persons and goods is also being conducted through walk-through gates and metal detectors.
The annual Urs of the renowned 17th-century Sufi saint Shrine of Mian Mir is held traditionally on 7–8 Rabi-ul-Awal (and spanning 3 days, according to local lunar/official scheduling) at his historic shrine located in the Dharampura/Alamganj area of here.
