RAWALPINDI, Apr 07 (APP):Rawalpindi’s district administration has imposed Section-144 for 15 days to maintain law and order amid security concerns.
According to an official order issued by the deputy commissioner, the restrictions will remain in force from April 6 to April 20 across the district.
All kinds of gatherings, including rallies, processions, sit-ins and protests involving five or more persons, have been banned.
The order also prohibits carrying and display of weapons, use of loudspeakers and pillion riding.
Officials said the decision was taken in view of intelligence reports indicating potential threats to sensitive installations and public safety.
Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
